I am so completely jealous of the swarms of young people I see with apparently nothing to do.
Even though I’ve been out of school for quite awhile, I’ve never gotten used to the idea of life without an annual three-month hiatus.

Maybe this will make you feel better (?):

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do;
the fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.

Well, you could become a teacher. They don't really get 3 full months off, but they do get summers off. : )

My mother thinks I should become a teacher.

I love the quote from Mary Wilson Little! Thank you queen bee. : )

It's nice, though, to see all the kids out in the neighborhoods living life as kids should. It's also nice because there are less people on the road. I'm sure Queen Bee has long forgotten what that's about!

I think the school system gets us accustomed to a long vacation every summer, and then we are never happy in a job that only gives two (or even four) weeks of vacation. -Trinka
